What to do
We conduct baby funerals for two local hospitals which are arranged and paid for by the Hospital Trust. These funerals (both cremation and burial) involve a simple white coffin and a religious or non-religious service. For burials the family can choose to use the cemetery chapel or the entire ceremony can take place at the graveside.
Sometimes when a baby dies before full gestation parents are unable to attend the funeral. We ensure that the funeral is carried out with dignity and respect.
If you are having a private funeral, we can provide you with an estimate in respect of your specific wishes. We will keep the charges as low as possible for the funeral of a child or baby.
We can offer a small selection of coffins and caskets for babies and children. Please talk to us about your preference of coffin as there are a range of designs and prices.
For these babies over 24 weeks gestation (and children up to the age of 18), the Children's Funeral Fund will cover the cost of the burial or cremation fees and upto £300 of the cost of the coffin.
