Levertons Nissan Electric Hearse
Leverton & Sons' in partnership with designer Steve Cousins, pioneered the UK’s first all-electric Eco-Hearse in 2013. Nine years later in July 2022 we took delivery of our first full-size electric Nissan hearse.
These hearses have proven popular with our clients, providing the option of a modern and environmentally friendly funeral in and around London.
This new electric hearse is based on a Nissan Leaf. The additional construction is made of recycled carbon fibre which means it weighs only 3% more than the original car. Its zero emissions battery can easily manage woodland burials in the home counties and can travel up to 200 miles on a single charge.
We also have a Nissan Leaf saloon in our vehicle fleet to function as a passenger car for mourners and bearers.
Our early innovation won us The Good Funeral Guide’s Best Green Funeral Director award in 2013 and again in 2017 and we were also shortlisted for the 2015 Camden Business Award’s carbon reduction and energy category.
