Clive joined his family working for Levertons in 1959. He worked alongside brother Keith, father Ivor and uncle Chris Leverton and the rest of the team until he left to work for himself in the building profession in 1969. Re-joining in 1975, the experience he had gained and brought to the firm proved very useful in developing and growing the firm.
Clive then worked his way up with brother Keith to become Director and subsequently Chairman of the company, with daughter Pippa and Hannah and nephew Andrew also joining later. Always learning and wanting to bring high standards to the profession, he has a Diploma in Funeral Directing and was a founder member of SAIF (Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors), which has now reached over 1,000 members. Over the years, Clive has made and is well known for many contributions to the firm and profession, most notably pioneering the first all-electric hearse made in the UK. He is also a Trustee and Chairman of the St Pancras Welfare Trust, which supports those most in need in the old metropolitan borough of St Pancras, Camden. He officially retired in 2020, aged 77, but still works as a consultant behind the scenes to support where needed.
Clive takes great satisfaction in lifting the load of bereavement by dealing with all the practicalities following a death to allow families to mourn without distraction.
He spends his spare time with family or at the allotment and is proud that Leverton’s is a co-sponsor of Haringey Rugby Football Club, including the Ladies teams.

Leverton helped me organise a very unusual funeral for my 96 yr father. His funeral was delayed by 4 weeks in order to give all family members worldwide the opportunity to attend. He therefore was embalmed but we wanted to have 3 days available, so that all the family could take the opportunity to see him privately immediately before the funeral, so he had to have a special embalming. He was buried in our garden in north London so Leverton kindly organised everything for us. Andrew, one of the Directors was extremely kind, thoughtful and professional and we could not have had a better service. I would highly recommend Leverton’s as your funeral agent, they were magnificent in every possible way 10 out of 10!

Recently, I dealt with the sudden and tragic death and funeral of a close family member, and was upset and shocked at the news of her unexpected passing. Fortunately, Laverson were outstanding in their support and help before, during and after the funeral. They carried out the whole process with calmness, consideration and great kindness. We were extremely grateful for the excellent support and assistance we received from Levertons. Lorna from the Kentish Town Branch made herself available to guide us and answer all our questions. As a family we felt that Levertons went the extra mile to ensure that everything was done to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loses a family member.
