Clive Leverton
Consultant

Clive joined his family working for Levertons in 1959. He worked alongside brother Keith, father Ivor and uncle Chris Leverton and the rest of the team until he left to work for himself in the building profession in 1969. Re-joining in 1975, the experience he had gained and brought to the firm proved very useful in developing and growing the firm.

Clive then worked his way up with brother Keith to become Director and subsequently Chairman of the company with daughter Pippa and Hannah and nephew Andrew also joining later. Always learning and wanting to bring high standards to the profession, he has a Diploma in Funeral Directing and was a founder member of SAIF (Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors) which has now reached over 1,000 members. Over the years Clive has made and is well known for many contributions to the firm and profession, most notably pioneering the first all-electric hearse made in the UK. He is also Trustee and Chairman of the St Pancras Welfare Trust which supports those most in need in the old metropolitan borough of St Pancras, Camden. He officially retired in 2020 aged 77 but still works as a consultant behind the scenes to support where needed.

Clive takes great satisfaction in lifting the load of bereavement by dealing with all the practicalities following a death to allow families to mourn without distraction.

He spends his spare time with family or at the allotment and is proud that Leverton’s co- sponsor Haringey Rugby Football Club including the Ladies Teams.

I thought it conducted very well, in a way appropriate to the deceased and in accordance with the wishes of those close to him. The funeral director was sensitive and helpful in both the atmospherics and the practicalities.

Leverton showed me and my family kindness, compassion and understanding from the minute I picked up the phone. They helped us plan the exact funeral that we wanted. It was a pleasure to deal with such a professional team at a incredibly difficult time. My family and I cannot thank them enough.

I want to thank Carmel and the Levertons team for helping me arrange a beautiful send off for my mum. Planning a funeral while grieving is extremely difficult, but Carmel made the process so much easier. She was kind, thoughtful and caring throughout, and her support meant a lot to me and my family during such a difficult time.

We were treated well without any fault. Procedure was explained in details before the funeral and I felt comfortable.. The funeral was so well organised and performed smoothly, people attended commented so. I appreciate very much, thank you. Kimiko Kambe-Gang

Drew and his team at Leverton & Sons Ltd. could not have done more to take me through the process of organising my late twin brother's funeral; they were professional, yet understanding, empathetic and patient (this being the first funeral I have had to organise), and I felt helped every step of the way. The fact that we had to organise things 'long distance' as we are not local to where my twin brother lived (so over the 'phone and by email) was no obstacle to them. The funeral itself was just what I wanted. Thank you.
