Association of Green Funeral Directors

Levertons are proud to be among the founding members of the Association of Green Funeral Directors.

Every funeral we conduct reflects the wishes of the deceased or those instructing us after the person’s death. Not everyone seeks a green funeral, but we are working to reduce the environmental impact of our daily business in a variety of ways. All the wooden coffins in our standard range are made from timber and woodchip that is approved by the Forest Stewardship Council. We recycle shredded paper by using it to fill the pillows we put into the coffins. Energy-saving devices are installed at our mortuary, garage and Head Office. Small steps soon build up, and we are committed to doing more for the environment in the future.

We also make it easy for our clients to make their funeral greener by providing information about the Natural Options that are open to them.
